States House of Assembly Speakers, Deputies emerge [LIST]

Speakers of States House of Assemblies and their deputies emerged in various states as the legislatures were inaugurated across the country on Tuesday.

The list, in no particular order is as follows:

Niger

A first-time member, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji has emerged as Speaker of the 10th Niger State House of Assembly. And Mrs. Afiniki Dauda (APC-Gurara) was equally elected as the Deputy Speaker.

Sokoto

Tukur Bala (APC- Bodinga South), and Kabiru Ibrahim (APC-Kware) on Tuesday emerged as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto State 10th Assembly.

Kaduna

The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Tuesday unanimously endorsed Yusuf Liman as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly. The members also unanimously endorsed Mr. Henry Magaji, representing Kagarko constituency as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Zamfara

Bilyaminu Ismail from Zurmi West emerged as the speaker of the 7th Assembly in Zamfara State, while Adamu Aliyu from Gumi 11 was elected deputy Speaker.

Plateau

A first-time lawmaker, Moses Sule (PDP) got the speakership office, while Gwattson Fom Dalyop of Jos South Constituency (PDP) is deputy speaker.

Enugu

The member representing Udi North State Constituency Uche Ugwu was elected the Speaker of the Assembly, while Jane Eneh of Awgu North Constituency emerged Deputy Speaker.

Kwara

A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Ilesha/Gwanra State Constituency, 38-year-old, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, emerged as the Speaker of the House. Mr. Ojo Oyebode (APC/Oke-Ogun) was also elected unopposed as the Deputy Speaker.

Adamawa

A lawmaker with physical disability, Bathiya Wesley, became the speaker of the 8th Assembly of Adamawa State, while Buba Mohammed Jijiwa of Jada Mbulo also emerged as Deputy Speaker unopposed.

Cross River

Elvert Ayambem has emerged as the new speaker of the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly. Sylvester Agabi representing Obudu State Constituency was elected Deputy Speaker.

Kano

A member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Jibrin Ismail Falgore, was elected as the new speaker for Kano State 10th House of Assembly on Tuesday. And a member-elect from Rimingado/Tofa state constituency, Muhammad Bello Butubutu of the ruling NNPP emerged as the deputy speaker unopposed.

Delta

Mr. Dennis Guwor (PDP-Warri South West), emerged the Speaker of the 8th Assembly of the Delta House of Assembly. Mr. Arthur Akpowhowho (PDP-Ethiope East) emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.

Jigawa

The member representing Miga Constituency, Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatum, has emerged as the Speaker of the 8th Jigawa State House of Assembly, while Honorable Sani Isya Gumel is the Deputy Speaker.

Lagos

The member representing the Agege 1 constituency of Lagos State at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has been reelected as Speaker of the House for the third term.

Katsina

The Katsina State House of Assembly has elected its member representing Daura Constituency, Nasir Yahaya, its new Speaker.

The assembly members also elected Alhaji Abduljalal Runka representing Safana constituency as the Deputy Speaker of the 8th Assembly.

Kebbi

Kebbi state House of Assembly elected Muhammad Usman Ankwai as Speaker of the House and Samaila Ahmed Bambu from Bagudo East as deputy speaker.

Cross River

Mr. Elvert Ayambem, Ikom 2 State Constituency was elected as new Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, while Sylvester Agabi, Obudu State Constituency was elected Deputy.

Borno

The Borno State House of Assembly (BOSHA) has unanimously elected Abdulkarim Lawan as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly. The House also unanimously elected the immediate past Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Musa from Askira/Uba state constituency as the Deputy Speaker.
