The Russian Foreign Ministry blacklisted 398 US congressmen in response to another “wave” of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the Joe Biden administration against 328 State Duma deputies.
“Mirror sanctions restrictions are being introduced against 398 members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
All these congressmen, including the leadership and chairmen of the committees of the lower house of the US Congress, are included in the Russian “stop list” on a permanent basis.
“Together with other current legislators, who, like Speaker Nancy Pelosi, were denied entry to the Russian Federation earlier, all US congressmen are subjected to “listing” on the basis of reciprocity,” the Foreign Ministry said.
More announcements of Russian countermeasures are planned in the near future, the ministry stressed.
The department’s website also published a complete list of congressmen who were blacklisted.
On March 24, the United States imposed sanctions against 328 State Duma deputies and Russian defense enterprises.
