The streets of Ibadan, in Oyo State, were on Wednesday morning besieged by protesters who were on the street to show their grievances over the scarcity of Naira notes and fuel.
Reports state that the protesters who besieged Iwo Road, Bodija, Mokola, Eleyele/Eruwa Road, Gbopa, Ologuneru, Apete, Challenge, and Orita roads had blocked access to the roads.
It was learned that the protesters who also consisted of young people made bonfires, forcing commuters to take alternative routes.
Some protesters could be seen defacing and tearing down campaign billboards during the protests, as seen in videos posted on social media.
