The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi has called on youth and the people of Kano State not to be used as agents of destruction in the state , the northern region, and the country at large.
The Emir after the protesters, on Friday afternoon, converged on the bridge demarcating Tudun Murtala and Tudun Wada wards of Nassarawa Local Government Area, after Governor Abba Yusuf relaxed the curfew to enable Muslim faithful to observe Juma’at.
Many of the youth carried placards, while others sang and clapped as they marched after a young man addressed them.

Sanusi, at a press conference held at his Gidan Rumfa palace on Friday evening, expressed deep concerns over public and private properties being looted and vandalised during what was meant to be a peaceful protest against hunger and hardship in the country.
The Emir stated that the events were a setback for the state, the northern region, and the entire country.
Earlier, protesters in Minjibir Local Government Area defied a 24-hour curfew to voice their discontent.
Governor Yusuf had imposed the curfew on Thursday evening after hoodlums armed with weapons disrupted an earlier protest.

“After careful consideration, we have decided on a 24-hour curfew to prevent looting, vandalism, and the killing of innocent citizens,” the governor explained.
The governor instructed all security agencies to enforce the curfew fully, aiming to restore peace and order in the state.
