ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state government says it is awaiting certification from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) by Monday to commence take-off and landing of all kinds of aircraft at the Minna Airport.
The Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Bologi Ibrahim stated this in a statement issued during the weekend.
The statement recalled that Governor Umaru Bago had last week described the quality of the project as shabby when he inspected the runway alongside the Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Kabir Yusuf Muhammad, and the Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation Abdullahi Idris Garba.
The statement noted that Bago had thereafter contracted Dantata and Sawoe to fix the lapses identified in the reconstruction of the runway.
“The efforts of the State Government are in preparation to host National and International guests expected to attend the forthcoming Green Economy Summit in Minna, slated for the 24th and 25th of October, 2023.
“The repairs by Dantata and Sawoe have already attained 80 percent completion and will soon be completed,” the statement said.
