The Kebbi State Government has cautioned youths and civil servants in the state against participating in the planned nationwide hunger protest.
This warning was issued by the Head of Service of the State, Safiyanu Garba Bena, during a news briefing on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi.
He said, “The Kebbi State Government has made significant progress in the last year. So, the youths should not set back these achievements under the guise of hunger protest.”

Bena expressed concerns that the planned protest could be hijacked by hoodlums and other destructive elements for their own selfish interests.
“The Federal and Kebbi state fovernments have recorded tremendous achievements in one year, and this development should not be jeopardized,” he added.
According to Bena, these achievements include infrastructure projects such as roads and the completion of secondary schools. “These are laudable projects that should be safeguarded, not destroyed,” he emphasized.

“It is unconstitutional to use protests for selfish reasons or violence. Therefore, the youths should be cautious so as not to cause any havoc and infringe on anybody’s rights.”
Bena advised the general public to approach problems through peaceful and constructive means. “Problems should be solved through peaceful and constructive means,” he concluded.
