The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed intending pilgrims to pay a deposit of N8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director-General of the board, Lamin Danbappa, disclosed this during a meeting with board members, management staff, and Local Government Hajj Registration Officers in Kano.
This was contained in a statement issued by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, on Wednesday in Kano.
According to him, the directive was in line with the guidelines of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
“The payment will be made through bank drafts and submitted through the Local Government Hajj Registration Officers,” he said.
Danbappa further revealed that the state had been allocated 5,684 seats for the 2026 exercise. He added that the collection of deposits had already commenced and would close on October 5, 2025.
The director-general urged intending pilgrims to pay promptly and comply with registration requirements, which include eight passport-sized photographs and a valid international passport.
