The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers across the country, including a new Corps Secretary, four Assistant Corps Marshals (ACM), and several Sector Commanders.
In a statement issued on Sunday, FRSC spokesperson, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the postings are part of efforts to reinvigorate the agency’s operations and strengthen its commitment to road safety management nationwide.
At the national headquarters in Abuja, ACM G. Ntukidem, formerly ACM Personnel, has been appointed as the new Corps Secretary. Also, ACM J.W. Toby moves from Policy Research and Statistics to become Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) RS11HQ Osogbo, while ACM I. Abubakar, who previously served in that position, now heads the Policy Department. In addition, ACM A.M. Hassan has been redeployed from Manpower Development to lead the Technical Service Department, while ACM A. Sanusi, who just completed a course at the National Defence College, resumes as ACM Manpower Development.
The reshuffle also affected sector commands across the federation. CC S.O. Ayodele retains his position in Benue State; CC J.N. Alexander moves from Anambra to Delta; CC N.I. Ezeoma remains in Abia; CC Y.T. Etuku has been posted from Kebbi to Kogi; CC B. Asekhauno takes charge in Anambra; CC R.M.Z. Abubakar assumes duty in Kebbi; CC D.B. Apaji is posted to Bauchi; and CC A.P. Longkam to Yobe.
Beyond these postings, 61 other Corps Commanders have been reassigned to various units, zonal commands, the Academy, and the national headquarters. Their roles cover critical areas such as operations, policy, administration, logistics, training, data management, research, establishment, and medical services.
Mohammed said the exercise is aimed at ensuring greater efficiency and improved service delivery, adding that the new appointees are expected to bring fresh vigour to the Corps’ operations in line with its mandate of safer roads and fuller compliance with traffic regulations.
He urged the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them, while calling on motorists to cooperate with the new leadership at all levels to sustain the drive towards safer highways across the country.
