Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has enjoined the Muslim Ummah in the State and the country at large, to emulate the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad in their conduct as they commemorate the birth of the great Prophet.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mary Noel-Berje on Wednesday, Sani Bello also congratulated Muslim faithful for witnessing this year’s Eid-el Maulud.
The Governor who said Eid-el-Maulud is generally not a time for merry making but a period for sober reflection and devotion called on the Muslim Ummah to imbibe the spirit of love, patience and perseverance as epitomized by the Holy Prophet, pointing out that it would guarantee peace and security in the State and the country in general.
“I urge you all to ponder deeply on our collective challenges; to retrace steps where necessary and renew our faith in God so as to reflect the true meaning of piety, sacrifice, patience and fellowship. In this way, the lesson that Eid-el Maulud teaches would have served its purposes.”
The Governor also implored the people not to allow any divisive tendencies amongst them but should remain united and help in deepening Democracy in the State.
