The Emirs of Gwandu and that of Argungu, Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar and Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera of Kebbi State, on Sunday, paid Sallah homage to the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Sokoto state, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, at his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto.
The Emir of Argungu, who also represented that of Gwandu, was accompanied by the Councils Chiefs from both the Emirates.
He informed the Senator that they were in Sokoto to rejoice with him over the completion of the Ramadan fast and at the same time to felicitate with him and the governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in the recent victory during the governorship elections.
The Emir prayed Allah, the Almighty to continue to grant more prosperity to both states, as well as divine protection.
Responding, Sen. Wamakko, while welcoming the guests expressed delight with the visit of the powerful delegation.
He said that the visit was an indication of the long standing mutual and cordial relationship between the two states.
Sen. Wamakko, on behalf of the governor-elect appreciated the gesture of the two traditional rulers and prayed Allah to continue to assist them in the discharge of their duties.
The delegation was led to Wamakko’s residence by the Galadiman Garin Sokoto, Aliyu Attahiru Galadanci Sokoto.
The visit was also witnessed by the governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto; former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tanzania, Amb. Sahabi Isah Gada; DG NTI, Prof. Musa Garba Maitafsir and some members of both National and State Houses of Assembly, amongst others.
