The Raphat College of Education in Obaagun of Osun state embarked on an endurance trek to raise awareness against immoralities such as Human Trafficking, Child Abuse, and Drug Abuse.
The long trek from Obaagun (the school premises) en route from Ikirun to Iragbiji in Osun State, was aimed at sensitizing the parents, youths, and other key stakeholders on the evils and negativities attached to immoralities in the society.
The sensitization rally according to the Provost of the College, Dr. Jamiu Ottan, is in line with the United Nations Children and Education Fund (UNICEF) action plan against child abuse.
This, he said also resonates with the National Human Rights Commission’s target on reduction of Human Trafficking as well as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA’s) kick against any form of Drug abuse and related offenses.
The procession had paid homage to the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba AbdulRasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV.
In his remark, Oba AbdulRasheed admonished the students on the dangers of social vices, immoralities, and other indecent habits prevalent in the society.
Oba AbdulRasheed particularly cautioned the female students on indecent dressing on campus.
Similarly, the royal father charged the management and staff of the college to sustain their tempo and not compromise standards, adding that such would endear many more students to the College.
Earlier, the Oloobagun of Obaagun, Oba Jimoh Adebisi Okunola – the royal host of the school, advised the students on the importance of modesty and decent at all times.
The octogenarian however prayed to the Almighty to continue strengthening the management, staff, and students of the college in all endeavours.
