A cleric, Pastor Joseph Akinade of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eagle’s Wings Assembly, Ibadan, has admonished the country’s leaders to put God first and allow Him to guide their decisions.
Akinade who gave the charge on Saturday in Ibadan during the church’s fourth anniversary, said any nation that neglects God in decision-making would face hunger and other challenges.
” This is because God remains the only sure provider.
“Nigerians are complaining about the depreciation of their Naira against the U.S Dollar and other foreign currencies, forgetting that the source and main provider is God.
“If our nation will get it right in all aspects, we must return to our maker and follow His instructions,” the cleric said.
Speaking on the anniversary’s theme “When Mercy Speaks” which was taken from the Bible’s first book of Samuel chapter 16 verse 11, Akinade said the anniversary was dedicated to giving thanks to God.
” This is for the continuous manifestation of His mercy in the ministry.
“We look back to the past four years and conclude that we must appreciate His mercy upon us and people around us.
“God has been dealing with the church with His abundant mercy without considering our backgrounds and qualifications,” he said.
Also, Prophet Godwin Akinsola, in his sermon charged the congregation to cultivate the habit of giving and offering quality praise unto God for the gift of life and what He had done.
Quoting from the book of Genesis chapter 39 verse 21, Akinsola urged the congregation to make the kingdom of God their ultimate focus.
He asked them not to relent in evangelism and offering quality service toward the growth of the church.
“For a man to obtain the next level of mercy, such person must honour God with continuous thanksgiving for what God has done in the past and what He will do in future,” the cleric said.
The anniversary featured fund-raising for the church’s auditorium, prayers and thanksgiving session, among others.
