The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off their strike over a lack of consensus on a new minimum wage and the hike in electricity tariff.

The Unions had shut down national grid on Monday when the strike began. They denied the TCN allegation that they beat up staff to shut down thr grid.

The TUC president Festus Osifo said this on Tuesday in Abuja after a joint extraordinary national executive council (NEC) meeting of the unions.

The strike suspension is for a week.
A communique will be issued shortly, the labour chief said.
