The Kwara State House of Assembly on Tuesday, slammed an indefinite suspension on the lone People’s Democratic Party, PDP member, Jimoh Raheem.
The suspension of the member representing Ilorin South Constituency, was said to be over alleged Contempt/Abuse of Privilege.
The suspension followed a motion by the House Leader, Abubakar Olawoyin during Tuesday plenary.
According to Olawoyin said in the motion that the Assembly is an institution that must be respected.
The House Leader accused Agboola of making a comment on a radio programme that suggested calling out the masses to stage a protest against the government and the House of Assembly.
He described the act at this period of insecurity as unsafe and could lead to chaos.
He noted that the lawmaker’s comment is already trending on social media, urging the speaker for investigation of the matter.
The Speaker, Yakubu Danladi assured the House of investigation and directed the House Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary to conduct investigation on the matter and report its finding to the House as soon as possible.
He also directed Agboola to stop attending plenary pending the conclusion of the investigation.
