The Bauchi state chapter of Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, has commiserated with the families of their member, late Dr Zuwaira Hassan who died in an auto crash along Bauchi-Jos road on Monday.
AsheNews reports that Dr Hassan, a former commissioner of health, during the administration of Governor Mohammmed Abubakar, died in a ghastly motor accident.
The NMA state chairman, Dr Adamu Sambo during a press conference to mark the flag-off of activities for the 2020 Nigeria Medical Association week with the theme, “Strategies for Health System Recovery during the COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria” in Bauchi, mourned the late Dr Hassan.
He described her death as a big loss to the medical association and the entire people of the state.
He said she was an active and fulfilled member of the medical association, adding that the medical week is dedicated to her for numerous achievements in the health sector.
“The death of Zuwaira came as a shock, not only to us but to everyone in the state. an active member of this association who has made a tremendous impact in the health sector,” he said.
“This medical week is dedicated to her, in order to give her the honour of a life of dedication and commitment to her work.
“We will miss her greatly as her absence has formed a vacuum in our hearts that will be difficult to fill. I pray that Allah comforts the family, the entire people of the state and grant her soul Aljannah Firdaus,” he said.
Sambo said late Dr Hassan died a humble, kind, simple and easy-going person, pointing out nobody can fault her for anything as she always carried everybody along in the discharge of her duties.
