Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu, as the Executive Director representing Niger State on the Board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago described the appointment as a “welcome development,” commending Prof. Nuhu’s multi-disciplinary scholarship and extensive leadership experience.
The governor highlighted that Prof. Nuhu is the first Professor of Estate Management and Valuation from Northern Nigeria, and has held several leadership positions at various universities. He also recalled Prof. Nuhu’s dedicated public service, having served in the Niger State government across Chanchaga, Shiroro, and Rafi local councils, and later as Commissioner for Tertiary Education—where he spearheaded significant reforms.
Governor Bago emphasized Prof. Nuhu’s professional credentials, including his status as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, the Nigerian Environmental Society, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, and of the Chartered Royal Institute of Surveyors, among other international bodies.
Expressing confidence in the appointee’s potential, Governor Bago said Prof. Nuhu’s wealth of experience will be instrumental in driving the NCDC’s goals. He also thanked President Tinubu for choosing a “Nigerlite worthy of the appointment” and assured Prof. Nuhu of his unwavering support, urging him to serve as a proud ambassador for Niger State at the commission.
