ASHENEWS reports that thousands of Muslims in Sokoto State have expressed gratitude to Mr. Yahaya Buhari for his annual Ramadan support, which includes the distribution of fabric and food items.

Buhari who is the King of all Imam in Sokoto, has upheld a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community during the holy month.

The Philantropist distributed 10 yards of yadedi fabric each to 500,000 people in the state on the third day of Ramadan.

The distribution took place at his residence, located behind the Glo head office in Sokoto.

The beneficiaries arrived as early as 7:00 AM to receive their share of the benevolence. The process was well-organized, with men collecting their fabric from 10:00 AM to 12:00 pm and women from 5:00 PM to 8:00 pm.

Olarewaju Tunde, one of the recipients, shared his appreciation, saying, “For the past two years, I have been coming here to collect fabric, and I always use it to sew clothes for Sallah.”

Another beneficiary, Hafist Ali, noted that despite arriving at 11:25 am and being late for work, he was impressed by Buhari’s personal involvement in the distribution.

“What surprised me the most was that Mr. Yahaya personally handed out the fabric, with his children carrying bundles of cloth on their heads to assist him. There was no struggle or disorder,” he said.

Musa Abdul, another recipient, recalled the seamless process. “I arrived at 9:30 am, and by 10:00 am, he welcomed us inside, asked us to line up near his storage room, and handed out the fabric himself,” he said.

Beyond fabric distribution, Buhari has also pledged to provide food items, including rice and meat, before the end of Ramadan.

Many residents look forward to this additional support, which helps ease the burden of fasting and preparation for Sallah celebrations.
