The President of the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria (NAFN), Arc. Kabir Ibrahim has called on the Nigerian youth to step up and take charge of building a sustainable and prosperous future for the country.
He made the call in special message to commemorate the 2025 International Youth Day.
According to him, Nigeria’s young people, who make up the majority of the population, hold the key to the nation’s progress. “The future of Nigeria and the world really depends on what young people decide to do,” Ibrahim said. He believes it’s time for every Nigerian, especially the youth, to become more innovative, tech-savvy, and community-oriented.
Emphasizing the need for strong support systems to help young entrepreneurs succeed, especially in agriculture and technology, Ibrahim suggested creating Small Business Administration (SBA) offices in every local government area to offer free business plans and help youth access loans more easily — making it simpler for them to start and grow businesses.
He also made a heartfelt appeal to President Bola Tinubu and his government to urgently address youth unemployment, describing it as a national emergency that needs immediate action.
“There’s so much untapped energy and potential in our young people. If we unleash it, Nigeria can lead the way in food security and economic growth,” he said.
Ibrahim thanked the President for his health and leadership, expressing hope that empowered youth will steer Nigeria towards lasting prosperity.
