ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State Government has announced plans to invest N10 billion in the remodelling of the General Hospital and School of Health Technology in Tungan Magajiya, Rijau Local Government Area.
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago made this disclosure during a visit to the two facilities as part of his statewide project monitoring tour.
He noted that both institutions, once remodeled, would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance service delivery.
In a related development, the governor also revealed plans to remodel the Kagara General Hospital in Rafi Local Government Area.
He announced that the contract for the project would be awarded soon, with work set to commence promptly.
The governor added that medical students from Rafi LGA would be deployed to the upgraded hospital to boost healthcare delivery.
In addition to healthcare improvements, Governor Bago outlined plans to renovate day schools in the area while transferring students from boarding schools to safer locations due to security concerns stemming from bandit activities.
Furthermore, the governor pledged to complete the 10 km road project initiated by the previous administration.
To ensure efficient execution, he said that the project will be handed over to the company currently handling a 5 km road project in the local government headquarters.
While expressing optimism that his administration will improve the state’s agricultural sector, Bago lauded the people of Rafi for aligning with his agricultural policies.
He projected that by the year’s end, Niger State would harvest one million trailer loads of food.
