Niger Foods Security and Logistics Company Ltd has been named the Most Productive Agricultural and Food Processing Company in Africa. The honour was bestowed by the Trans-African Youth Development Initiative (TAYI) during a national executive meeting held at the United Nations Assembly in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued on August 5, 2025, by Rashidat AbdulRahman, Information Officer at Niger Foods.
While presenting the award at the company’s headquarters on Tuesday, Bakare Luqman, TAYI’s leader, commended the company for its consistent excellence in food production and its positive impact on communities across the continent.
He stated that TAYI had closely monitored the company’s operations and found its activities aligned with democratic dividends for African communities.
Luqman praised the Niger Foods company’s Chairman and CEO, Mr. Sammy Adigun, calling him “a golden fish with no hidden habitat”—a tribute to his transparent and visionary leadership. He urged other African leaders to emulate Mr. Adigun’s life-changing contributions to development.
In his response, Mr. Adigun expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a motivation to do more. He encouraged African youths to embrace agriculture, entrepreneurship, and productivity as the path to economic independence.
“Nature has given us everything to make us wealthy,” he said. “To come out of poverty, you must fight it with hard work and vision.”
Mr. Adigun also revealed that Niger Foods plans to produce over 10 million tons of rice by 2030, significantly contributing to Africa’s food security.
