The President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Dr. Farouk Rabiu Mudi, has congratulated Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the AFAN President described the festive period as a time for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to nation-building. He urged Muslim faithful to uphold the values of sacrifice, unity, and perseverance demonstrated during Ramadan.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerian Muslims, particularly our hardworking farmers who play a vital role in ensuring food security for the nation. May this season bring peace, prosperity, and abundant blessings to us all,” he said.
Dr. Mudi also used the occasion to call on farmers across the country to begin early preparations for the upcoming rainy season, emphasizing the need for timely land preparation, access to quality seeds, and sustainable farming practices to enhance productivity.
“With the rainy season fast approaching, I urge our farmers to take proactive steps in preparing their farmlands and securing necessary inputs. Early planning is crucial for a successful farming season, and AFAN remains committed to supporting farmers in every way possible,” he added.
He further appealed to the government and relevant stakeholders to continue providing necessary support to farmers, including access to affordable credit facilities, improved seedlings, and mechanized farming equipment, to boost agricultural output and ensure food sufficiency.
Dr. Mudi reaffirmed AFAN’s dedication to advocating for policies that will empower Nigerian farmers and contribute to national economic growth. He prayed for a peaceful and prosperous farming season while encouraging unity and collaboration within the agricultural sector.
