NiMet advised the public to take necessary precautions, warning that strong winds may precede thunderstorms and urging residents to secure loose objects to prevent damage.
The agency also advised against driving during heavy rains and recommended unplugging electrical appliances during storms. People are urged to stay away from tall trees due to the risk of falling branches.
Airline operators were reminded to obtain airport-specific weather information from NiMet for safe flight planning. The agency encouraged all Nigerians to stay updated through its website, www.nimet.gov.ng.
