ASHENEWS reports that the former Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Climate Action Platform for Africa.
The former Vice President has accepted the offer and pledged to work towards driving climate action across Africa.
The announcement of Osinbajo’s appointment was contained in a statement by the CAP-A Founder, James Mwangi.
The statement read, “We are deeply honoured to have Prof. Osinbajo join the CAP-A Board of Directors as Chair to assist with the next phase of our growth and our mission of unlocking Africa’s potential as a global hub for climate action.
“His vast experience and passion for transforming African countries’ economies in harmony with climatic needs will be invaluable to CAP-A’s mission, especially coming out of the inaugural Africa Climate Summit that made a strong push for accelerated climate action.”
Osinbajo also announced his acceptance of the offer on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
He wrote, “Thrilled to announce my acceptance of the offer to lead CAP-A as the new Chair of the Board of Directors! I am excited to drive climate action across Africa alongside an incredible team.”
