ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has advocated for the establishment of Ranger Forces to help protect Nigeria’s forest reserves.
Bago stated this during a panel discussion at the ongoing Climate Change Summit in Dubai.
The panel discussion was organized by the Nigeria Police at the Nigeria Pavilion.
According to the governor, the force when created would help in safeguarding the country’s forest reserves and other conservative areas.
The Governor, who lauded the Nigeria Police for their commitment to green initiatives said that the forum provides an avenue for the government to explore opportunities for more green initiatives and partnerships with organizations, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies as stakeholders in that regard.
