The Bauchi state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has called on the Bauchi state government to probe the management of Wikki Tourist Football Club following the poor performance of the club in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPLF).
This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by the state SWAN chairman, Mahmud Yakubu, and the Associations Secretary, Bala Bawaji, and made available to our correspondent in Bauchi.
The statement stated that SWAN as a critical stakeholder in sports development has observed the deteriorating condition in the management of the club.
This, the association said, has adversely affected the club’s activities, both on and off the pitch.
It further noted that the club is currently in the relegation zone, in 9th position with 12 points from 13 games in group B of the abridged Nigeria Premier Football League.
Meanwhile, SWAN also condemned in strongest terms the actions of Wikki tourist Supporters after last Sunday’s 2 – 1 home loss to visiting Bayelsa United.
“The unruly behavior of the fans is completely against the spirit of sportsmanship and sports development, hence the need to bring the hooligans to book, “it said.
