No fewer than 150 players in several categories are to take part in a 2-day 2nd Harmony Open Golf championship in Ilorin.
The Captain of Ilorin Golf Club, Luqman Yahaya, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Ilorin.
He said arrangements are in top gear to ensure a hitch-free competition.
According to him, the competition, which is billed to run from Nov. 10 to Nov. 11, on the tricky Ilorin golf course, will feature over 150 players in several categories who had signified interest in the event.
He revealed that the championship that had attracted entries from Golf clubs across the country is been marketed by Seaford Nigeria Limited, a Golf Tour and Marketing outfit headed by Mr. Lukman Owolewa.
Yahaya explained that in order to ensure a smooth event and hospitable experience for participants, the club’s Board of Trustees under the Chairmanship of retired Justice Lambo Akanbi, had met with the club management and the marketer, and contributed towards a successful staging of the competition.
He said other members of the Bot are Yusuf Sagaya, Otunba Adekanola, Layi Maliki and Funsho Abogunrin.
According to the captain, the Bot members are not only pulling their resources together but also throwing their weight behind the event as they have all invited several of their friends from outside the state to grace the occasion.
The programme of events revealed that Friday is arrival and practice day with a welcome cocktail.
The game will Tee-off 7 am on Nov. 11.
The closing ceremony and presentation of prizes will hold at the club’s ultra-modern Club House by 7 p.m. on Saturday.
