Nigeria will lead six African countries to the 2025 Global Gas Summit, taking place from September 9 to 12 in Milan, Italy. The African bloc—Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritius, Libya, and Congo—will join delegates from 143 countries at the Gastech Exhibition and Conference, a key platform for tackling global energy challenges.
Nigeria’s agenda will focus on natural gas and LNG, AI-driven energy solutions, climate technology, and hydrogen.
Nigeria LNG (NLNG) will play a central role at the summit. Its Managing Director, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, will speak on methane abatement and climate action. Deputy MD Olakunle Osobu will discuss AI applications in energy, while Mrs. Sophia Horsfall, GM External Relations, will highlight workforce development. Mr. Nnamdi Anowi, GM Production, will join a future leaders’ session.
Top government officials in the delegation include Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas); Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; John Enoh, Minister of State for Industry; and Farouk Ahmed, CEO of the NMDPRA.
The conference will provide Nigeria with fresh opportunities to build alliances and push its low-carbon energy transition agenda.
