The member representing the Shiroro, Munya and Rafi federal constituency of Niger State, Ismaila Modibbo has supported 360 students from Shiroro local government area with N40,000 each.
ASHENEWS reports that the students are studying in various tertiary institutions.
The Coalition of Shiroro Associations (COSA) commended Modibbo for the support, which it said, came at a time considering the overbearing cost of living, and especially the students’ living conditions in their various schools.
COSA chairman, Usman Ibrahim Kuta, equally applauded Modibbo “for taking full sponsorship of some students of the local government to study health-related courses in Great Success School of Health Technology, Gwada, as well as providing walkie-talkies to security personnel, free fertilizers, herbicides and seeds for farmers to improve security and boost agricultural production in Shiroro local government.”
He implored the member to improve in the area of moving motions and sponsoring bills that are youth and women-friendly. “We also urge you to explore the areas of securing federal appointments for the youth of Shiroro local government, empower the young population to scale up their financial strength and boost the economy of the local government area.”
COSA assured Modibbo and all leaders of the association’s “continued support for progressive policies and programs that are geared toward the progress and development,” adding “be rest assured that we shall always be stronger together.”
