Terrorists on Saturday night, kidnapped the District Head of Ruwan Rana, Magaji Makau in Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara state.

They also abducted five others, and killed one person.

An indigene of the area Mohammed Musa told the Analyzer news that the bandits who were on motorcycles entered Ruwan Rana town on Saturday.

According to Musa, the terrorists got to the town and started shooting sporadically and began a house-to-house where they abducted the district head and five other prominent persons.

“We heard gunshots and everybody went into hiding because we knew that the bandits were there for abduction.

“They went from house to house and abducted five people including our District Head, and shot down one person and later returned to the forest”.

“I was not aware of those abducted until the following morning when I came out to hear that the district head, Makau was among the victims,” Musa said.

A member of the state House of Assembly representing the area, Hamisu Faru assured that the victims would soon be rescued.

“The security agents are making efforts to rescue the district head and the other five persons,” he said.

The spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Yazid Abubakar could not be reached for comment at the time of filling in this report.
