Terrorists on Monday, reportedly killed a traditional ruler, Ignitus Asor when they invaded Obudi Agwa community in the Oguta local government area of Imo state.
They also killed two palace chiefs and two other persons during the attack that left a total of five persons dead while many others, including including the traditional prime minister, Chief Stephen Ajoku sustained various degrees of injuries.
The terrorists were reported to have stormed the ruler’s palace and opened fire sporadically.
They were also reported to have stormed neighbouring Mgbala community and shot a pregnant woman and a local security officer and fled on their motorbikes and vehicles after the attack.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the State Command of Nigeria Police, Michael Abattam said the police are already on the trail of the hoodlums with the clues in their possession. “Yes, it’s true but the police is already investigating the matter, we have clues already and we are on their trail,” he said.
