See List: 47 Unity Colleges closed by FG

The Federal Government has directed the closure of 47 Unity colleges across the state as a result of the recent abduction of boarding school children and the increasingly rise of insecurity.

In a circular addressed to all Principals, signed by thebDirector, Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, the colleges were closed in the need to prevent any security breaches.

“The Honourable Minister of Education has approved the immediate closure of the listed Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) with immediate effect . Principals of affected Colleges are to ensure strict compliance”, the circular read.

it would be recalled that 25 girls were abducted in Kebbi state while over 200 students and pupils were abducted at a private catholic boarding school in Niger state this week.
