The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Wednesday, paraded a notorious bandit, Bello Galadima who it said has been terrorizing the state.
The 40 year old Galadima specializes in giving information to kidnappers about movements of would-be kidnap victims.
“His arrest was possible through actionable intelligence received by the officers and men of the Sokoto State Command, which responded immediately and laid siege in the Aliyu Jodi area of Sokoto state,” the Corps spokesperson, DCC Olusola Odumosu said in a statement.
“He went to buy drugs and also to satisfy his sexual urge but was arrested by the gallant officers wasted no time in ending his reign of banditry.”
According to the spokesperson, “Galadima also assists kidnappers in buying drugs and other items that they use for their nefarious activities.
“Reliable Intel says he was formerly operating in Niger state before relocating to Sokoto where luck ran out on him leading to his capture and arrest by operatives of the NSCDC,” he stated.
The suspect is presently in the custody of NSCDC where he is being interrogated and helping with useful information to apprehend other culprits.
Meanwhile, the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi has commended the Sokoto Command for a job well done in arresting the bandit, who has been on the wanted list of security agencies for more than two years.
