Six members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, have visited to commiserate with their Niger state counterpart, Abubakar Sani-Bello.
The visit is to commiserate with him over the recent abduction of Kagara school boys and the release of 53 passengers abducted from the Niger State Transport Authority, NSTA, bus.
The chairman of the Forum and Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi led governors of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal; Kwara, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; Nasarawa, Abdullahi Sule and Plateau, Simon Lalong.
Fayemi explained that they were in the state to commiserate with governor Abubakar Bello over the abduction of the Kagara students and to commend him for the release of the 53 passengers.
The Ekiti governor called for synergy among security agencies to find lasting solutions to the problem of insecurity.
Insisting there is no regionalization of the security issues or ethnic inclination, he explained that Nigeria could no longer play the ostrich and pretend about the issues.
Fayemi added that all governors in the country must put their heads together to solve the problem, stressing that the bandits terrorising the north were remnants of Boko Haram, who have infiltrated into other parts of the country.
