The National chairman of a non governmental organization, NGO, Patriot for the Advancement of Peace and Development, Dr Sani Shinkafi has raised an alarm that some politicians were to breach peace in Zamfara state.
Addressing newsmen in Gusau, the state capital on Thursday, Dr Shinkafi appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari, to act fast towards ensuring peaceful coexistence in the state.
Shinkafi noted that Buhari is a president of Nigeria and not only working for All Progressive Congress, APC, or any other political party.
According to him, the situation of insecurity in the state was getting bad, while alleging that some unpatriotic indigenes were planning to truncate the peaceful coexistence achieved in just few months of assumption of office of governor Bello Muhammad.
“We must commend the present administration under the leadership of Governor Bello Muhammad, for his giant efforts toward ensuring security of people in the state. It was a right decision when the committee for peace and reconciliation initiative was formed,” he said.
He alerted the security agencies in Nigeria to braze up in their primary responsibility, warning that there is serious danger ahead.
He further called on people, particularly kidnap victims, to stop giving ransom to kidnappers, saying, “they use the money collected as ransom to buy more weapons”.
