The new Commissioner of Police (CP) deployed to Cross River, Mr Gyogon Grimah, has assumed duty.
Grimah assumed duty on Tuesday in Calabar with a promise to stamp out criminality in the state.
The commissioner, who appealed for cooperation from the public for effective policing, said the command would clamp down on criminals and other trouble makers across the state.
“We will not fold our hands and watch any group of persons or unauthorised cult processions across the state under whatever guise to obstruct or cause breakdown of law and order,” Grimah warned.
Grimah, who hails from Nassarawa State, was until his deployment to Cross River the CP in charge of ICT at the Force Headquarters.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and had held various positions and attended various professional courses within and outside the country.
Grimah took over the command from Mr Sule Balarabe.
