British pharmaceuticals producer GlaxoSmithKline has agreed to buy late-stage biopharmaceutical company Sierra Oncology. GlaxoSmithKline said on Wednesday that it would pay $55 per share of common stock in cash, representing an approximate total equity value of $1.9 billion. The Nigerian Armed Forces have arrested suspected security personnel who were alleged to be taking N60 million ransom to bandits for the freedom of some captives. A boat capsize on Shagari River of Shagari local government of Sokoto state, has claimed lives of 29 persons while the search of others is on. The incident occurred Tuesday evening, the chairman of the local government council, Aliyu Dantani told ASHENEWS in a telephone conversation on Wednesday.
