ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a German company, the Sun Farming Company to establish a farm estate in the state.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim.
The statement said that the governor signed the agreement on behalf of the state government on Wednesday in Germany.
He said that the farm estate would serve as a training center for sustainable agriculture-related activities.
“The estate will also provide energy, using renewable sources for a sustainable supply of power.
“The planned estate will encompass several key areas: it will serve as an educational hub, offering training and resources related to agriculture and sustainable practices.
“Furthermore, It will include a crossing center to assist newcomers and integrate them into the community. The estate will also focus on energy, likely incorporating renewable energy sources to power its operations sustainably.
“Finally, a substantial aspect of this initiative is food security, gearing toward producing and distributing food locally to ensure a stable food supply,” he said.
The governor is part of the Presidential entourage currently attending the G20 Compact with Africa (CWA) Conference in Berlin, Germany.
