Senator Elisha Abbo has retracted his allegation against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio that he plotted the Court of Appeal’s nullification of Abbo’s election in Adamawa.
The Appeal court on Monday, nullified Abbo’s election and declared the PDP candidate, Amos Yohanna as the rightful winner of Adamawa North Senatorial District election held on February 25.
Following the sack, Abbo held a press conference at his home in Abuja where he alleged that he and four other senators were being targeted for not supporting Akpabio’s emergence as Senate President.

Akpabio however denied the allegation.
Back-tracking his allegation in an interview on Arise Television, on Wednesday, Abbo said he was convinced Akpabio had nothing to do with his travail.
“I have to say this with all sense of humility and responsibility that the press release we issued yesterday was premature and based on the available information at our disposal yesterday,” he said.
“As of today, we have discovered a lot of things, and yesterday night I had a discussion with the Senate president, and I am convinced that he is not involved.”
Abbo quoted Akpabio as saying: “I swear by my mother’s grave that I’m not involved. I didn’t even know that you’re in court.”
Abbo further stated: “For a number three citizen to come up to tell me that he has sworn on his mother’s grave, a woman that he loves so much, a woman who brought him up after he lost his father at the age of six, I don’t see a reason why he would lie.”
