ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has solicited the support of the Nigerian Armed Forces in curtailing the insecurity in some parts of the state.
Bago stated this when he paid a visit to the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor was received by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa.
The governor, who acknowledged that the state was currently at a disadvantage due to its large landmass appealed for more support from the Armed Forces.
“The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa reassured Governor Umaru Bago that the Armed Forces remain committed in its quest to surmount the insecurity in the State and the Country at large.
“He acknowledged the strategic nature of Niger State and said, the Armed Forces will do its possible best to ensure that Citizens go about living normal lives free from attacks,” the statement said.
