The Borno state governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has charged the people of Marama community in Hawul local government area of Borno state not to allow modernisation taken over their culture.

The governor gave the charge when he graced the Bura cultural day, an annual cultural event on Sunday.

ASHENEWS recalls that Zulum attended the January 2020 edition of the festival, before commissioning some developmental projects in the local government area.

“I am happy to inform this gathering that today’s theme, tagged “Effects of Alien Civilization on Bura Culture” is very apt.

“I  therefore, commend the organizers of this occasion.”

“It is my honour to be here for the second time to rejoice with you on this very important day,” Zulum said.

He assured of his continued support and charged the community to maintain their cultural heritage.

“The Borno government will continue to provide support to the Marama Development Association” Zulum said.

“It is very important for all of us to maintain our cultures, we should not allow our culture to be washed away by modernization.

$When you look at the cultural performances displayed here, it is so pleasing to all of us.”
