Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu on Saturday solicited sustained cooperation of the three tiers of government in the state.

The governor spoke when he monitored the State Delegates’ Conference of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN as well as the inauguration of the newly elected executives.

According to him, “we must work together, under each other and move the state forward.

“This is also the only way we can ensure the entrenchment of sustainable democracy and provide the direly needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

“We must work together and that does not mean that we must compromise our independence.

“We must also stop the blame game. If we cooperate with each other, we can do more, otherwise, there will be no progress.”

Bagudu noted that the Executive, Judiciary and Legislature in Kebbi state were enjoying robust relationship, adding that the three tiers of government had recorded achievements and the feat would be sustained and consolidated.

The governor urged each of them to understand and appreciate their various limitations, hence, make Kebbi the pacesetter it should be.

“The unions, for instance, should not only be interested in the welfare of their members, but should bolster good governance as elitist groups.

“JUSUN is however different and justice is the foundation of the society. This is very crucial,” he said.

The governor attributed some of the current challenges in the country to injustice and the neglect of some people who felt cheated.

In his welcome address, JUSUN chairman, Umar Bawa noted that the conference served as an avenue for the exchange of fraternal relationship among the members of the union.

According to him, some achievements had been recorded owing to the robust cordial relationship with the State Judiciary, particularly the Chief Judge of Kebbi state, Justice Suleiman Ambursa and the Grand Khadi, Justice Mukhtar Imam.

He commended governor Bagudu for maintaining cordial relationship with industrial unions in the state.

The National President of JUSUN, Marwan Adamu who was represented by AbdulAziz, commended the state judiciary for the cordial relationship between the management and staff as well as for trying to ensure transparent election.

He advised the elected members to carry everybody along with honesty and dedication so as to protect the interest of their entire members.

The Chief Judge charged the new officials of JUSUN to be fair to all members and lead by example, while commending the state governor for his support to the State Judiciary since he assumed office as the State Chief Judge.

“Virtually, he provided all our request we forwarded to him and where he cannot, he will tell you. We are grateful sir,” he said.

He assured the Governor that the Kebbi State JUSUN remained one family.
