Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi state on Tuesday, commended operators of engine boats and canoes plying Dole Kaina – Lolo water ways, for striving to promote economic activities between Nigeria and the two neighbouring countries of Niger and the Republic of Benin.
The governor made the commendation while addressing the people engaged in marine transport at Dole Kaina, saying the state government appreciated their orderliness and activities.
Bagudu, who was transported in an engine boat from Dole Kaina to Lolo on a condolence visit, said he was satisfied with the professionalism displayed by drivers of canoes and engine boats in ferrying passengers to their destinations.
The governor, who was in Lolo, Bagudo local government, to condole the family and Kebbi North zonal APC Care taker vice-chairman, Sahabi Lolo over the death of his uncle, Musa Lolo who died on Monday after a brief illness.
The governor prayed Allah to grant late Abubakar eternal rest and the family fortitude to bear the loss.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Bagudu made available to ASHENEWS, said the governor paid similar visit to Suru town in Suru local government, to condole with the family of late Shehu Suru, the Secretary of APC caretaker committee of Suru local government who died last Saturday, also after a brief illness.
In his response, the District Head of Suru, Muhammad Suru thanked the governor for the sympathy visit and prayed Allah to reward him abundantly.
The governor made a stop-over and expressed his satisfaction on the quality of work executed on the provision of portable water to Fulani settlement of Runtu Sabuwa near Dutsin-Kura along Bunza-Dakingari highway.
On the governor’s entourage were the Chief of Staff, Government House, Sulaiman Argungu and Special Adviser on Energy, Yusuf Rasheed.
