In a swift reaction to distress calls from residents, the Executive Director of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NSPHCDA), Dr. Inuwa Junaidu, has conducted an urgent field inspection of the Yusuf Dada Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) in Yidna, Paikoro Local Government Area.
This visit marks Dr. Junaidu’s first official field assignment, signaling a new era of hands-on leadership at the agency.
The inspection was not routine; it was a direct response to complaints raised by the Yidna community regarding the deteriorating state of their health facility. Junaidu’s presence on the ground was to assess the damage firsthand and identify immediate measures to restore safe and effective healthcare services.
Addressing the facility’s staff, Junaidu charged them to remain resilient. He revealed that the state is currently rolling out a Level 2 intervention, a phased approach championed by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and Health Commissioner Dr. Murtala Muhammad Bagana to revitalize grassroots health systems.

“This administration is determined to reposition primary healthcare as the cornerstone of our health system. We want to assure residents that their genuine health needs will receive prompt attention,” Junaidu affirmed.
The rapid response has restored hope in Yidna as the Village Head, Jamilu Hassan, commended the State government for actually listening to the common man.
”This intervention has reassured us and restored our confidence in the government,” Hassan stated.
Aminu Ishaku, the Supervisory Councillor for Health in Paikoro LGA, described the move as decisive, noting that it reflects the New Niger Agenda’s resolve to elevate service delivery beyond mere promises.
Junaidu further went to the Paikoro Local Government Secretariat to strategize with council leadership regarding the issue health
The Council Secretary applauded the practical, “no-nonsense” recommendations, marking this as a turning point for healthcare delivery in the area.
