Against the provisions of the new Police Act for which the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu should have left office on February 1, President Muhammadu Buhari, has rather extended his tenure by three months.
The minister of police affairs, Maigari Dingyadi disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
He said Buhari’s decision was to give time for proper selection of the new helmsman for the force.
