An indigenous technology company, Arigo Technologies, has said Nigeria and Africa have what it takes to become creators and leaders in the digital economy, instead of just depending on foreign technology.

Dr. Arinze Madueke, the founder of Arigo Technologies, made this statement during the launch of seven new digital platforms by the company at an event held in Lagos on Saturday.

Madueke explained that the platforms were built to solve Africa’s unique problems and to show that the continent can take the lead in global technology innovation and digital transformation.

“We are not just building apps. We are creating solutions that provide jobs, support entrepreneurs, connect talents, and prove that Africa can lead the world in innovation,” he said.

He praised the Federal Government for supporting the tech ecosystem but urged for greater involvement in technology events to boost visibility, support, and encouragement for innovators.

Madueke also called on the government to provide better infrastructure and policies that would allow startups and innovators to thrive in the fast-growing technology-driven economy.

“This is a historic moment,” he told the audience. “You are part of history as we present the results of years of research, innovation, and sacrifice.”

He explained that the platforms were developed over five years at the Arigo Innovation Lab, involving intense testing, intellectual property work, heavy investment, and personal sacrifices from the founding team.

Some of the platforms, he noted, were born from personal experiences. For example, CribsAndRides came after he was scammed by a fake land agent shortly after returning to Nigeria from abroad.

Similarly, FutbolConect grew out of his experience as a football club owner. The platform focuses on solving problems in talent discovery, player transfers, and agent reliability within the global football industry.

Madueke encouraged Nigerian startups and tech enthusiasts to keep innovating. He added that Arigo’s innovation hub is open to support entrepreneurs with technology-driven ideas and digital solutions.

At the event, sports journalist Ralph George revealed that FutbolConect had already signed up more than 800 football clubs worldwide since its soft launch earlier in the year.

He added that over 35,000 players had registered on the app, with transfer deals worth ₦1.2 billion already executed through the platform and its website.

George also disclosed that more than 180,000 people from different countries had visited the site, following its earlier launch in London on May 30, 2025.

“This platform protects players, clubs, and agents from fraud. Nigerian clubs often spend millions bringing agents who later disappoint, but this provides a safer alternative,” he said.

The event also showcased Arigo’s flagship platforms, including MyArigo.com, a business marketplace and professional networking space for African entrepreneurs.

Other platforms launched were: FutbolConect.com– a global football talent hub, Miamour.me– a marriage and therapy platform, CribsAndRides.com– a luxury real estate and auto marketplace, Ijeuwa.com– a storytelling and reward platform, EduGlobal.international – a blockchain-secured education portal, Twy.app– an AI-powered brand for personal and business productivity

The event attracted participants from government agencies, banks, universities, investors, FIFA-licensed football agents, as well as leading figures from Nigeria’s entertainment and tech industries.
