Deputy Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Manir Dan’Iya has narrated how he felt when he received the news of his principal, Aminu Tambuwal going into self isolation after coming into contact with persons that tested positive.
He made the disclosure in a statement by the Director of Press, Aminu Abubakar and made available to ASHENEWS on Monday.
Read the statement below:
“It was with mixed feelings that I received the sobering news of the self-isolation of our amiable boss on Friday, December 18, 2020. The news came with a solemn but weighty temporary challenge of having to step into the big shoes of the governor.
“In the past few days, I felt the weight of the responsibility suddenly put on my shoulders. But, with gratitude to Allah, and with the support and encouragement of Governor Tambuwal, I spent the past couple of hours going through the calls of duty with little or problem.
“In spite the fact that the Governor was in self-isolation, I enjoyed his tremendous support and encouragement in discharging my duties and running the state seamlessly.
“We thank God for his good health and submission to the will of the Almighty, who in return didn’t forsake him. Instead, he was granted the best of relief.
“I want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to the government and good people of Sokoto state, who rallied behind the Governor with prayers and well-intentioned thoughts.
“Worthy of note were the wide scope of stakeholders – the Governor’s entire family, traditional rulers, the Ulama, the clerics and politicians of different convictions.
“Without the support, prayers and encouragement you ceaselessly gave us, there would have been a hiatus and vacuum in the running of the state’s affairs.
“May Allah continue to bless you all and give our Governor long live and good health to lead well now and into the future,” the statement reads.
