The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) has said that Nigerian scholars especially from the intellectual community’ were not nominated for the 2023 Nobel Prize because of poor research funding.

Nobel Prize winners will receive one million Swedish kronor more in prize money this year, bringing the total to 11 million kroner (985,000 dollars), the Nobel Foundation has said.

Chinua Achebe was a novelist. Wole Soyinka is a playwright. I know most of you didn’t know this, but there is really no basis for comparison between the two. It’s like comparing Sunny Ade and Oliver De Coque because they are both singers.
