An indigenous fintech company, Cashir Technologies Ltd. has clinched the revered Microsoft Startup Founder’s Award.
The Chief Executive Officer of Cashir Technologies, Mr Wole Adewole, disclosed this in Lagos on Friday.
Adewole said that the award was geared towards receiving benefits from Microsoft in form of support which would aid the startup’s growth.
He said the award was renewed yearly to get more benefits, such as 150,000 azure credit and more.
The Cashier chief executive described the feat as one of the many testaments of Cashir’s growth since the idea was conceived and launched in 2022.
Microsoft for Startup Founder’s Award is a stamp of approval in the tech ecosystem, initiated by software giant, Microsoft, to provide a bolstering hub for startups all over the world.
It aids startups’ to adopt a business model to radically accelerate their innovations by providing access to industry-leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) services, expert guidance and essential technology needed to build a sustainable business.
Adewole said: “Cashir is focused on the pain points people have when performing financial transactions or in need of cash.
“These pain points include out-of-service issues, standing in long queues at ATMs before accessing cash among others.
“With these in mind, our solutions are tailored to provide easy access to financial access points through a distributed network of cash agents that enable people access cash wherever they may be.
“Imagine being in an unfamiliar location and you run out of cash. Because you are not familiar with this environment, you may not know where the closest ATM is or the mobile money agent.
“With Cashir App, all you need to do is initiate a ‘withdraw cash’ transaction and you will be connected to a cash agent within walking distance of your location through an ‘Uber-like’ map navigator.”
He said that Cashir was founded by the trio of Wole Ademola Adewole, (Chief Executive Officer), Adedayo Adewole (Chief Product Officer) and Adeyinka Adewole (Chief Marketing Officer ).
According to him, the app has had a remarkable impact on the lives of Nigerians as it strives to provide financial freedom to users to perform seamless transactions for their daily needs.
An overview of Cashir Technologies was profiled on Microsoft Startups Founders Hub, to authenticate the award.
In a congratulatory message via email, Microsoft accepted Cashir Technologies to the Microsoft Startups Founder’s Hub, and offered 5000 dollars of Azure credits valid for one year.
Microsoft said that the award was supported by 24 hours, seven days standard support, 1000 dollars in open AI credits and three months of open AI innovation license, Microsoft 365 valid for one year among other benefits.
It added that these benefits are renewable yearly.
