The Sokoto Executive Council on Friday, approved N1.631 billion for execution of various projects across the state this year.
According the resolutions reached after the meeting, construction of Maruda-Tsaki-Lambo-Gantamo-Gajara road will gulp N475 million while N221 million will be spent on the purchase of materials for the maintenance of rural water scheme.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Isah Galadanchi said N420 million was approved for the rehabilitation of 120 broken water schemes in the rural areas.
Also, the Commissioner for Rural Development, Usman Dan-Madami said the council approved the purchase of electrical materials for use in rural areas at the cost of N515 million.
