ASHENEWS reports that the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, Haliru Zakari Jikantoro has resigned.
Jikantoro announced his resignation during a press briefing on Friday in Minna, the Niger state capital.
Jikantoro, who said that his decision to resign was based on personal reasons, noted that he would continue to serve the party in other positions in the future.
Reacting to Jikantoro’s resignation, the Special Adviser to the Niger State governor on political matters, Mohammed Nma Kolo said that Jikantoro had earlier conveyed his decision to the Niger state governor during a meeting held yesterday.
Kolo also maintained that there was currently no rift between members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state.
